Sick day

With the school year mostly winding down, we took today as a sick day.  We had tentatively planned to go to the zoo.  The lovely Colorado weather and Emma's lungs made that idea so not happen.
Emma started coughing on Sunday night.  By Tuesday night she had a barking cough and I forced her to use the nebulizer.  Today I took her to the doctor.  Emma is now the owner of a nice new inhaler.  She also got her ears irrigated as a bonus.  Colds throw off her hearing, so any little bit of build up is bad.

When we finally got home from the doctor, everyone was beat.  We ended up watching Booky's Crush and Booky's Christmas on Netflix.  They were delightful shows.  Very Canadian.  The mom in them was Megan Follows from Anne of Green Gables.  We folded some of our mound of laundry, clipped coupons and ate graham crackers, while Emma hacked and hunched over and Laura slept in the back room.

We had a bit of a discussion on the Great Depression, so I guess we did something educational. :)

Tomorrow we get back on schedule.  Its library day, so its an incentive to finish early.  I keep looking for movies to creep out the kids, but they really liked Watcher in the Woods.  Must look harder for dvds in the kids section.

I hope Emma's doing better. A day off now and again is a good thing!

I "love" the weather here. I have no idea what you are talking about. And sick days are fun especially with all the hacking and coughing.
