How does it work?   
In theory, a child puts together a notebook, with sections for:
Theme 1  Creation 
Theme 2  Plan of Redemption Begins 
Theme 3  Kingdom of Israel 
Theme 4  Kingdom of God 
Theme 5  Early Church
 
Each week the student will put pages into their notebook.  These pages can be maps, illustrations, timelines, essays, etc.  There is one sheet that can be reproduced for each Theme that has a column for  that can be filled out for key events, key individuals, key institutions, key documents. 
  My complaints: In order to present it, the teacher will listen to a series of dry lectures by Bill Burtness, laying out his theory of government in the Bible:  Internal Government and External Government.  Which is great, if you want to teach your kids according to his particular theory.  I, however, don't.  I prefer to focus my children's Bible study on the divinity of our savior Jesus Christ, the need for a Savior, and the wonderful sacrifice He made for us, and how to apply it to our lives and live as He would have us do.
   Additionally, I didn't feel this was a curriculum at all.  It felt more like a sermon with homework.  It was not user friendly.  The lectures were not easy to listen to.  As a homeschool mom of 5 kids, I don't have the time to sit and listen to lectures that I don't agree with.  The manual I was given wasn't a manual like one would expect of a curriculum.  The notebook ideas booklet does not have any links to where to get the ideas in it. I had to search through it just to find the sheet with key events, etc. on it.   There was a list of scriptures for each week, and no maps, no timelines, nothing else.  Basically, you are given an idea and then left on your own to prepare whatever you come up with.

  Here is what we ended up doing:   We began with the creation.  The kids drew pictures in order.  That was Day 1.  For Day 2, I searched around the internet and found Bible notebook pages from several sites.  The kids wrote life events and bible references.  Day 3 they drew Adam naming the animals.  Day 4 they talked about how they were made in the image of God and drew pictures of their bodies.   Day 5  I created a handwriting page in word using Genesis 1:27 and Genesis 2:3. 
  We continued in the same fashion for the second week, The Fall.  We also included learning children's hymns that corresponded with the theme.  We discussed how the Fall was necessary and created the need for a savior.  We listed 2 columns of Because of Adam and Eve and Because of Jesus Christ.  We also discussed how we believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression.
  To sum it up, I am glad we were given this review, if only to light the fire under me to remember to have a Bible instruction period of our day.  I like reading the Bible with my kids.  It forces me to remember what I have learned and pass it on to them.
