Earlier this week, Emma passed me a note in her journal informing me that she wasn't ready to be baptized this Saturday.  Emma has a unique outlook on life, so it took some digging from Annie and me to figure out her issue.  It was nothing to do with understanding the step she is taking or the responsibility.  Nope.  She hadn't practiced with Howard and was worried that her feet will pop up, or her hair,or that water will get in her nose, or that Howard would mess up the prayer.

I reassured her that Howard has baptized lots of folks, with no issue.  He came home from work and practiced with her so now her only fear is people looking at her.

What I have read about second children says that they are attention seekers.  With Emma, sometimes its yes.  Unless it is a spotlight of attention.  Then no way, Jose.

If you happen to be attending her baptism this saturday, um, don't look at her.  Or do.  You just never know with Emma.

Emma, you are one in a million, and I love you!

What a sweetie! My 3rd is the one I suspect this may happen with. She loves being the center of attention and then all of a sudden she clams up and freezes. Thankfully, she has a few years still!

Thanks for your comment on my blog - my kids think it is funny that I get ideas from people I've never met by reading blogs, and they occasionally ask me to stop too!
