Our first sick day

Today I woke up with a ragin headache and a sore throat.  I guess I got what Annie started yesterday.  We took it easy.  Annie brought the laptop into my bed and worked on some science.  Emma watched a Barbie flick with the 2 little girls.  Then we headed off to Sarah's swimming lessons.  She did great.  She now does her bobs with no problem and is getting the arm movements down.  1 more class to go.

After swimming we headed to that glorious place, the American Girl store.  Annie's doll, Felicity, is going away at the end of this year and her stuff is only available while supplies last.  The dress we wanted wasn't in stock, but we were able to order it and got free shipping.

We came home and Annie finished all her subjects except math, as its hard to do with a headache.  She made a groovy model of a water molecule.  Emma worked on spelling and we called it a day.  Now we are working on the life skill known as doll hairstyles, as I finally bought the hair care kit.
*Just wanted to note that yesterday Emma made a rockin model of the Big Dipper out of paper, string and foil.  Its way cool.  I found the directions online after I realized that our lame science curriculum doesn't include the worksheet masters needed to build a model using straws and clay.  We also tried to make our own loom to weave some yarn.  It didn't turn out well, so we decided we are thankful we don't have to weave our own clothing.  Tomorrow we will make sand art.

Sounds like a fun day despite the headache and sore throat with a little learning thrown in.
