Like when your kid brings you a craft they are so excited about and you are wondering what the heck it is, and when you can throw it away.
When your pg wife asks if she is really as huge as she feels. Howard is smart enough to know the answer to this one.
Anytime you are in a public restroom with a toddler.
After reading Are You My Mother, Bedtime for Frances and any of the If you Give a ___ a ____ books and you can 't take reading another book, its okay to tell your kids you are going to the bathroom, or going to bed.
When people drop by unexpectedly and the house is a mess and you blame it all on the kids. Even though you have been reading Fablehaven all day and not paying attention to anything.
I am sure there are more even better times to lie, but this is my list for today. And no, I am not done with Fablehaven yet. Which is really true. I fell asleep reading it last night though.

I love your list! And totally agree that sometimes honesty is NOT the best policy!!
What I got from you list is that I hate the If You Give a _____ a _____ books, and every time one specific parent brings me ANOTHER one of those books, I tell her how thankful I am, and how great they are. I guess lying sometimes is ok. I mean, lets be honest, how willing would this mom be to bring me other books if I told her how much I hate the above mentioned books.
Personally, I Love those wacky books; however, I don't read them to anyone these days. Sometimes, bending or stretching the truth is tactful and kind. Other times, it gets you out of hot water, but is clearly dishonest. We've all been there! Soon, I'll be there in CO!
